I got mine way back in 1987 at Target. It cost me around $15 I think and it looked like a Chevy Corvette. I still use it when I need to rewind a vhs tape.

my current wife, mrs. flipper talked in her sleep after the first week we started sleeping together !

I do. My family used to crack up at me. We'd be camping and all of a sudden I would start to argue with my dream and say stuff like QUIT HASSLING ME. LOL After I got married my wife used to converse with my sleep-personna. She said it would start of like I was in a war zone. Screaming for ammo or for a medic. So she would act like my CO and calm me down. I would wake up and not know about any of it. She began recording me at bed time and I was surprised at how loud I talked and the sheer amount of talking I did. I still do this now and then.

a girl in early twenties marries a man (elder) 27 years older ..still married 30 years later !.
an elder is stabbed with a knife.. but it hits his belt buckle.. police called.

One wedding was between a couple of new converts. He was sort of shy and she was not. As the ceremony progressed we could all see his angst. when it came time to repeat the vows he was looking at the brother and saying the vows. She got really mad and screamed at him, "MIRA ME!!!" which means LOOK AT ME! in Spanish. I felt bad for this poor chump.

Christian Love in action
by lancelink inthis past weekend i was speaking to a friend who attends the hall that i once did in northern illinois.
we were catching up on the latest news regarding the mass disfellowshipping (53) of teenagers that happened in the area, and she shared .
they were talking about the dfing and he said that they needed to be cast out, it was akin to "scourging" and hopefully they would wake up and realize what they had done.

My point here is what gives this guy who is
1) an elder
2)the congregation PO
3) a father himself
the right to make a comment like this? Sounds kinda creepy to me. he seems more focused on being right and enforcing the "law" of the WT
society than actually helping the kids. What about the scripture that talks about the Shepard who leaves the flock to go and search for the lost sheep?1) Elders do pretty much as they damn well please.
2) Congregation POs are generally arrogant and used to speaking with an authoritative tone.
3) JW fathers are generally autocratic in their behavior and disciplinary tactics.
It is very creeepy but it sounds to me like he is a typical elder with control issues. They are taught to put appearances above everything else and in reality they show none of Christ's compassion or wisdom in any of their official decisions, so what is said in an everyday conversation is just a reflection of that. Nothing is above the wt in their minds.

Sexless marriages
by Mickey mouse ini've heard of a fair few sexless marriages in the borg, probably something to do with the fact that if you're raised "in" you'll have a pretty skewed view of sex by the time you finally get to do it.
so if someone is trapped in a sexless marriage, from a jw standpoint they could get an unscriptural divorce...but...that doesn't leave them free to remarry??!
seems pretty sadistic really.

I am in a sexless mariage. But I am far from trapped in the marriage. When me and Mrs. Tired were first married, we engaged in lots of good sex. It was limited to intercourse and oral sex in a variety of positions, but the sheer volume of lovin' made it quite enjoyable. I have never been into getting oral, but I am a giver and she got lots of it. After nine years of knocking at her back door I was finally allowed in. We enjoyed unfettered sex from that point on and even enjoyed a couple of threesomes. Both of us believe that the bedroom is off limits to nosy elders and their wives.
Then she got sick and things slowed down. Then she ended up getting uterine cancer and she had to get a hysterectomy. Her desire was completely excised along with her uterus. Rarely she would hop on for a ride, but after her back got worse, we decided it was time to end the sexual part of our union. Even an occasional hand stroking got to be too painful as her hands and joints swell and hurt a lot. We are only in our mid-forties and we are in the position many in their seventies find themselves. I love my wife with all that I am and I spend my days now caring for her needs. She is bed ridden and so she needs me more now than ever. So, I have learned that sex is a great thing to enjoy with your spouse, but it is hardly the end all necessity for a happy marriage. I am happy to say that our marriage is strong as ever. But I think that is because our love for each other is true blue.

I just did. I was offered some priviliges as a carrot to get us back to meetings. I declined and earned a visit from the po and service overlord. I told them that the society is evil and to leave us alone. I am expecting the word to stpread now and to get an announcement to be read.
